An Indigenous Perspective
Monday, August 17
7:00pm - 8:00pm
Main Library
Meeting Roomwith historian Henry Crouse and Lenape citizens Brianna Dagostino and Ty Ellis
Two hundred and fifty years ago, North America was ravaged by the violence and chaos of the American Revolution. But the story goes beyond what we all learned in school. The Revolution was more than Patriot against Redcoat. It was a brutal civil war that not only tore apart the British and Americans, but divided America's Indigenous nations. Join Lenape citizens Brianna Dagostino & Ty Ellis (raised in the traditions and culture), along with historian Henry Crouse, as they teach us about the Lenape, New Jersey's Indigenous inhabitants, and their role in the complicated cataclysmic conflict that birthed the United States.
