Step back in time with this engaging program exploring the beloved sweets and treats of the 18th and 19th centuries. Learn how recipes, ingredients, and preparation techniques have changed over the years while uncovering the stories behind the desserts and confections enjoyed by early Americans, and how they compare to the favorites we enjoy today. Please note: this is a historical lecture, not a food tasting event.
Drawing on its extensive collection and expertise, the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts brings the experiences of 18th- and 19th-century artisans and craftspeople to life, creating meaningful connections between the past and present.
Open to tweens, teens, and adults. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
