Join us for a Latin Dance lesson with Amy Garcia Phillips of Contento Dance!

As part of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, the library has invited Amy Garcia Phillips of Contento Dance to come teach a one hour Latin Dance lesson. There will be two twenty minute sessions covering two different types of Latin Dance (Salsa and Bachata) and then twenty minutes of free dancing, where participants will be able to dance and enjoy the music, demonstrating their newly learned skills!

No experience needed, registration is suggested but not required. Open to adults ages 18+.

About the Instructor

Amy Garcia Phillips is the founder of Contento Dance, an independent Latin and Ballroom dance company based in Rahway, NJ. Contento Dance is welcoming to LGBTQAI+ dancers as well as dancers at any level. In addition to dancing, she is currently Engagement and Community Development Program Manager for the Arts Institute of Middlesex County, NJ.

Amy received her BA in Related Arts: Dance, Theatre, and Music, from Kutztown University and instructed at Paul Pelicoro’s DanceSport in New York City for over 10 years before creating her company. Amy continues her own dance training at AbunDance (formerly known as Rahway Dance Theatre) and performs with their adult company.
