Meeting Room, Virtual Meeting RoomA tour through the collection of America's premier museum
In 1924, the Metropolitan Museum of Art officially opened its American Wing, providing a special focus and celebration of American works. Today, the American Wing houses some of the museum’s most beloved pieces, such as Leutze’s Washington Crossing the Delaware, Gilbert Stuart’s iconic portrait of George Washington, and Louis Comfort Tiffany’s dramatic three-part window, Garden Landscape. This lecture will discuss these pieces and other important works from the collection.
Mallory Mortillaro is an art historian and educator. She has ten years of teaching experience and has worked on various art research projects for museums and organizations in the New York metropolitan area.
