Enjoy the sounds of this ancient instrument

Enjoy an afternoon of music performed on the oud. Michael Burdi will share the history of this ancient instrument which dates back to around 3200 BCE. Hear music from a wide range of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean regions as they would have been heard millennia ago.

Michael Burdi is a Brooklyn based multi-instrumentalist who specializes in the oud. He is a founding member of the Harmal Ensemble who play traditional music from Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, as well as original compositions.
