Main Library
Children's RoomStep back into colonial America and discover what children wore and why.
In this hands-on workshop, young participants explore historical images of colonial children, feel the difference between linen, wool, and cotton fabric swatches, and design their own colonial-inspired outfit on a fashion template. Guided by literature and images from 1700s America, children learn how clothing reflected daily life, work, and social class in colonial times.
Includes: read-aloud · fabric exploration · fashion template design activity · group reflection
Open to kids ages 5 - 11. Registration not required, but space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Call or visit the library with any questions.
