The Great Divide is a historical novel by Cristina Henríquez that explores the construction of the Panama Canal through the intersecting lives of various characters, including a Barbadian immigrant, a Panamanian laborer, and an American doctor. The book, set in 1907, focuses on the human cost and impact of the monumental project, highlighting the stories of those often overlooked by history. It was a TODAY Show Read With Jenna Pick and a New York Times Editors' Choice.  

Print copies will be available to check out at the North Edison Branch on reserve for book club members approximately four weeks before this book club meeting. Digital copies may be available to check out via Libby and Hoopla. For more title availability, please visit our online catalog.
