Edison Public Library
Celebrate Edison Public Library's 95th birthday with syncopated ragtime, early jazz & rhythmic swing tunes of the 1920s, 1930s & 1940s played on acoustic guitars made in the same era.
One hundred years ago acoustic guitars, now called vintage, were new. For this concert, we'll offer some syncopated ragtime, early jazz & rhythmic swing tunes of the 1920s, 1930s & 1940s played on vintage acoustic guitars made in the same era. The program recreates the back-in-the-day sound people originally heard when musicians performed it as new music.
Ken Lelen sings memorable love songs & plays vintage acoustic guitars. His concerts attract adults and seniors to an array of venues with cheery anecdotes, memorable tunes and witty lyrics. These mirthful shows offer swing, jazz and pop music on romantic, musical and historic themes, Ken's nimble guitar work and ebullient vocals.
Open to adults - please no children under 14. Registration is not required but seating is limited to 50.
