Edison Public Library
A Yiddish Music Celebration
Lisa Gutkin is a Grammy award winning member of the acclaimed Klezmatics. In this concert she draws on her vast experience to take you on a magical, musical journey around the world with her fiddle. Tantsn un Shpringen (dancing and jumping), named after the Saturday night dances of her childhood in her Yiddish-speaking summer community, is a show near to Lisa’s heart. Dedicated to her Grandmother and Great Aunt, the Grammy winning violinist will sweep you away with freylekhs (dance tunes), doynas (mournful melodies), and songs about love and life sung in English and Yiddish.
