Edison Public Library
Honoring the poet/activist with readings, stories, and audience participation.
Celebrate National Poetry Month with the Edison Public Library as we remember poet, activist and Rutgers professor Nikki Giovanni, who passed away in December of last year. Join us and performance artist Lorraine Stone as we discuss Giovanni’s life, read her poetry, and watch a portion her famed debate with James Baldwin from the TV show SOUL!
If you’d like to help us celebrate by reading some of your own Nikki-inspired poetry, please email Eric at erevilla@edisonpubliclibrary.org (number of readers is limited).
The Main Library on Plainfield Avenue next to the Edison Train Station. The library offers an extensive children’s room, a Meeting Room/Event Space, and a dedicated Maker Space.
